Sometimes It Takes a Miracle

During Jesus’s time on earth, the Bible documents 37 miracles that He performed. This is only a small fraction of the miracles and wonders He was responsible for in His time on earth.
“And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.”John 21:25 NKJV
These miracles revealed His compassion and His ability to change the lives of those around Him. They also increased people’s faith that He is the son of God.
Whenever we pray there needs to be an element of faith that has to be incorporated in the prayer. Believing God for miracles signs and wonders is key! Jesus is STILL very much in the business of performing miracles. So many Christians believe that miracles signs and wonders only happened in biblical times, when that is not at all true. Sometimes we overlook them because we think they are too small, sometimes we try to reason it out, sometimes we only see the negative aspects or the trauma of an event, and sometimes too: they don’t look like the miracles documented in the Bible.
In my life, I've had seasons when I struggled with faith and I asked the Lord to help me with my unbelief, much like the father of the child with a deaf mute spirit:
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24 NKJV
In these seasons, I have several testimonies of how the Lord literally saved my life through miracles. Each time, my faith was increased as an answer to my initial prayer. Also each time, the enemy tried to convince me that the miracles were not real, didn’t happen, or can be explained. This was key to me because I learned that in order to increase my faith, I need to silence the enemy. Of course the enemy doesn’t want me to have faith and receive healing and deliverance. He wants to keep me (and you) bound.
The first step is to receive God’s love. You would think this step would be easy, but for me, it was quite a process. So much of my life I felt unlovable. As my marriage grew and my wife and I matured in our faith, so did my understanding of love and how to receive it. There’s nothing I have to do to earn God’s love. I’ve always thought it was something I had to work at when in reality, it’s freely given!
Next is to know that we have power as believers and God is bigger and more powerful than anything the enemy can throw at us.
"and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power" Ephesians 1:19 NKJV
I found the key is not to play the victim to the enemy’s wiles. Instead to believe and put into practice what this scripture says. We can use the authority and power that God so freely gives us as believers and we can speak the truth of the Word and dispel the lies of the enemy.
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
The greatest miracle of all is when Jesus defeated death and got up on the third day. It’s the one miracle that if we believe, we are saved, we are set free, we are delivered and most importantly, we can have a close relationship with God. So be encouraged fellow believers! Continue to pray and continue to believe for His next miraculous move.
As always, friends, be well-fed. Until next time.
